Abstract of the research Merit Scholarships College project:
As governance has become more and more European and international, so has the civil service. International organizations employ a growing number of officials and other employees. The position of these employees raises interesting questions of both practical and theoretical importance in which the autonomy of international organizations has to be balanced against the rule of law and the need for accountability in a multilevel governance system. The current proposal aims to examine this balance as it takes shapes in both legal theory and daily practice.
