Bursary Merit Scholarships College holders are required to pay fees. Bursary holders are not expected to teach or act as Research Assistants, but may apply to do so if vacancies occur

PhD Merit Scholarships College Studentship in Human Movement Sciences


Merit Scholarships College Scientific research is conducted within the Research Institute MOVE includes both basic and applied research with a strong signature. The Working Group on Biophysics and psychophysics of sensorimotor control, "examines how sensory information is used in controlling movement.

Merit Scholarships College looking for highly motivated candidates with an MA in creative look (one of) the natural sciences, exercise and sport sciences, engineering or biomedical, psychology or a related discipline. A strong mathematical background and experience in programming (eg Matlab) are welcome as well as writing and presentation skills in English.

Full-time Ph.D Merit Scholarships College Candidate


The Ph.D Merit Scholarships College candidate will carry out research on the international organizations as employers - between autonomy and accountability, supervised by prof. dr. A.A.H. van Hoek (International Private Law) and prof. dr. E. Verhulp (Labour Law)

Abstract of the research Merit Scholarships College project:
As governance has become more and more European and international, so has the civil service. International organizations employ a growing number of officials and other employees. The position of these employees raises interesting questions of both practical and theoretical importance in which the autonomy of international organizations has to be balanced against the rule of law and the need for accountability in a multilevel governance system. The current proposal aims to examine this balance as it takes shapes in both legal theory and daily practice.

Tasks:
To engage in supervised scientific research that will ultimately result in a doctoral thesis; The candidates may also lecture on subjects in the Faculty's curriculum.

Qualifications:
Merit Scholarships College Qualified jurist with excellent knowledge of the law of international organisations and/or labour law and/or private international law Excellent writing skills, fluency in Dutch and English

Appointment:
The appointment will be full time (38 hours a week) although a part-time appointment (32 hours per week) is negotiable. The starting date is 1 September 2011. The appointment will initially be for 1 year. Extension of the contract to a maximum of four years is subject to satisfactory performance after the first year.

The gross monthly salary will be in accordance with the salary scales for Ph.D candidates at Dutch universities, i.e., ranging from € 2.042 in the first year to € 2.612 in the final year.

Scholarships College Grants 2011 NMF National Marfan Foundation

The National Marfan Foundation (NMF) is requesting applications for one- and two-year grants for basic or clinical research on the Marfan syndrome.

The NMF’s grant program is designed to provide financial support for investigators studying any or all disciplines involved in the Marfan syndrome. Three one year grants not to exceed $50,000 each (or two $50,000 one year grants and one $100,000 two year grant) will be made in January 2012 from the NMF Research Fund.The principal investigator must hold an MD, DO, PhD, ScD, DDS, DVM or equivalent degree.

The investigator must have proven ability to pursue independent research as evidenced by original research publications in peer-reviewed journals.The National Marfan Foundation is currently accepting proposals for basic and clinical research related to the Marfan syndrome and related tissue connective tissue disorders. Each application should have the quality of an NIH proposal.
