Scholarship Description: We are looking for bright, talented students with excellent grades in their first degree in engineering or a physical sciences subject to join a new and exciting concept in postgraduate training at the University of Oxford, UK, within the Department of Engineering Science.
On graduating from our 4-year postgraduate training programme you will have an Oxford PhD (DPhil) in engineering, have gained first-hand experience of working on clinical problems and alongside engineers working in the healthcare industry, and will be able to make an informed decision as to whether you want to pursue a career in academic or industrial biomedical research based on first-hand experiences.
There are 10 RCUK Digital Economy Programme funded post-graduate awards available from October 2010, for GB and EU students. GB candidates who are awarded a RCUK funded studentship will receive full funding (University and College fees and a stipend); EU candidates will receive University and College fees only. There is one Clarendon Scholarship available per year for international students (this will be awarded during March 2011).

Clarendon Scholarships, University of Oxford, UK
The Clarendon Fund offers 100 full scholarships every year to academically excellent international graduate students at the University of Oxford.
Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and potential across all degree-bearing subjects at graduate level at the University of Oxford. Clarendon Scholarships cover tuition and college fees as well as a generous grant for living expenses. Scholars are chosen by experts in their field and places are highly competitive, with less than 10% of eligible candidates selected for the scholarship.
The first Clarendon scholars took up their places at Oxford in 2001 and since then, over 900 students from more than 60 nationalities have been supported by a Clarendon Scholarship.
Applications for entry in 2011-12 opened on 1 September 2010.
